Agricultural Extension Education
This course exposes the student to the basic of principles and practice of agricultural extension education. It further explores Extension methods and Approaches, Role and use of audio-visual aids in extension, Extension programme planning, monitoring and evaluation, Extension Technical writing and reporting.
Course objectives
- To make learners appreciate the role of extension in rural development
- To describe how to plan agricultural extension programs
- To describe how to transfer information to farmers and other categories of the population
- To enable learners execute and write reports on their work and advise agricultural enterprises
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the learner should be able to:
- Understand the importance of extension as a tool for rural development
- Disseminate important knowledge and information relating to agribusiness
- Plan agricultural programmes, and execute and write reports.
- Advise entrepreneurs on agribusiness development and management.
