Assisted Reproduction Technologies & Gene Banking

This course introduces the students to foundational concepts of assisted reproduction technologies currently in use in modern animal production systems.   
Course Objectives

  • To train students in the latest technologies of assisted reproduction
  • To train students in gene banking technology
  • To expose students to the national animal breeding policy, laws, and regulations.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, the student should be able to:

  • Apply the latest assisted reproductive technology skills in animal production
  • Carry out gene banking
  • Appreciate the national breeding policy, and the laws and regulations governing the breeding of animals in Uganda.
